In Taipei - Day 1

The good thing about taking Eva Air is that it’s a midnight flight from San Francisco. The bad thing is that we arrived really late as well.

Mom’s very good friend from junior high came to the airport to pick us up, Auntie Luo and Uncle Chang. That was super nice of them and so unnecessary, gee! Mom has so many good friends, like everywhere we go. She totally hooked us up!

We drove on a newly-built highway and got to their apartment not too long after, a fully furnished place that is not occupied at the moment. They showed us around the complex, explained how everything worked, gave us a set of keys, and said “See ya! You’re on your own! And don’t forget to turn off the A/C when you leave!”

By then, it was close to midnight.

Auntie Luo called us again when she got back to her own home to tell us how to get online. We have Internet connection too? Awesome!

Having a two-bedroom apartment in Taipei to ourselves with all the amenities (and wifi to boot!) is beyond fantastic.
